• Midnight Madness to help raise money for marathon
  I would like to thank the Fingerlakes Mall and Tracie Murphy for helping us with the upcoming fundraiser Midnight Madness on Dec. 20. Thanks to their generosity we will have many raffles to raise money for sick children in my campaign to run the Boston Marathon in April. We will be raffling off many children's items like Webkinz, and many more baskets. One lucky child will win a K-Nex roller coaster building set just in time for Christmas!

• Congress acting like hypocrites on auto bailout
  While President Bush and the Republicans in Congress block an effort to save our American auto industry, foreign countries have already come to the aid of theirs. France, Germany and Italy have provided billions to their auto companies as the auto sales drop is worldwide and has affected even the Japanese brands. Of course Japan has helped their companies for years in the form of technical assistance as well as the free health care they provide which reduces the costs of their autos built in their country.

  When reading Murray Lynch's response to my recent letter, I was a bit dismayed at the reasoning. He questioned my religion, and I failed to see the reason.

• Salting roads should be priority for the city
  On Wednesday, Dec. 10, it started snowing and sleet was falling around 1 p.m., just as the Weather Channel had predicted. And this went on all afternoon, with the temperature dropping (just like the Weather Channel said). On my way home at 5:30 p.m., the roads were like a sheet of ice.

• Nation should make an example of President Bush
  It is important to set precedent so that presidents don't think that they are above the law. If action isn't taken, more violations will continue. Just look to the past. Nixon is a good example.
