POMPE -- A central New York man's run-in with a courthouse brought him a run-in with the law.
State troopers are charging 28-year-old Jason Griffin of Cazenovia with leaving the scene of a property damage accident after he crashed his pickup into the Pompey (POM'-pee) Town Hall building and then drove off.
Troopers say the impact left a gaping hole in the wood-frame structure. The crash happened about 12:20 a.m. Thursday in Pompey, 10 miles south of Syracuse.
The building is set back about 20 feet from the highway. Troopers are investigating the circumstances.
The building contains the town offices, as well as the court.
