Cayuga County and all of central New York is under a winter weather advisory from 7 p.m. Tuesday through 1 p.m. Wednesday because a low pressure system is expected to bring ice and snow to the region, the National Weather Service said.
The storm could bring 3 to 7 inches of snow to the area.
Snow is expected to spread over the region between 10 p.m. and midnight, with snowfall rates described as moderate. Between midnight and daybreak, however, rates could reach an inch per hour, creating slippery roads and low visiblity for motorists.
