Molly Clifford scored 18 points to lead the Union Springs girls basketball team to a 36-28 win over Moravia Saturday. The Wolves' Casey Emmett had six points and 10 rebounds while Michelle Wilmot came down with 10 boards.

Claire Hunsinger led the Blue Devils with 12 points.

Union Springs (2-2) travels to Marathon Tuesday.

Port Byron 63, Cato-Meridian 33

Ali Short scored 16 points to lead the Panthers. Shelby Gilbert scored 11 points, had 10 assists and six steals. Kaitlynne Knapp scored eight points, blocked six shots and came down with 13 boards. Nica Dare finished with seven points, eight assists and five steals, while Corey Ryan scored eight points.

The Blue Devils' Michelle Townsend scored 15 points in the loss.

Port Byron travels to Fabius Pompey Tuesday.

Caleb Green led the Panthers to a 2-3 finish with a 5-0 record in the 112- and 119-pound weight classes. Mitch Janes (119/125 pounds) and Eric Urwin (135) each went 4-1, while Tyler Wellington (112/119) went 3-1. Jessica Trumble (103) and Noah Adler (215) each finished 3-2. Port Byron (5-3) hosts Cato-Meridian Thursday.

Senior captain Kara Pitcher led the Panthers with 10 kills, two blocks, three assists and 10 digs as they won 25-22, 25-21 and 26-24. Brooke Hamm also had 10 digs, two aces, one kill and two assists.

Paula Bernardoni led the Panthers in the dig column with 15 and six aces. Kaycee Traver had two aces and finished with two digs. Kelsie Bennett had one kill, seven aces, eight digs and one kill.
