Recently, I lost $10. The amount is insignificant, my problem is why I lost it.

I recently purchased a new set of tires for my auto. I requested the old tires be placed in my trunk, which they were. Upon checking the bill, I noticed a disposal charge of $2.50 for each tire. When questioning the dealer, I was advised that this tax was dictated by the great state of New York!

My argument is that I was charged for disposal of tires that weren't disposed of. What's next? Buyers beware!

" If you take the tires, someone is going to eventually have to dispose of them so you are paying for the disposal. Unless you are going to grind them up and repave your driveway with them. You also ask what is next. Probably a disposal fee for computers that contain harmful waste. A fee for disposal of cell phones. The list is long. "
