Truckers appreciate support during protest

Monday, December 8, 2008 11:24 PM EST

The people of Auburn and the surrounding area deserve a big thank you for the encouragement and support that they gave to the trucker convoy, Nov. 27.
What is needed is the determination of the citizens to unite with the truckers in an effort to bring the government back to the people and out of the hands of a few select in deciding what is best for the local economy and way of life.

" The "few select" want special rules above the law. The majority don't want heavy truck traffic on inappropriate roads. For once, lawmakers are protecting the interests of the majority instead of special interests. "

" Sorry Vinnie, I saw the convey in its entirety and it was lackluster to say the least. U will find the majority of supporters are for the LAW that will go into effect on 010109 for trucks to stay off rural and residential roads. And per my sources Vinnie is the "self proclaimed" convoy organizer. "

" No support here, Vince.

Just a lot of family and paid "supporters" if you ask me!

Go do something constructive--protest the Thruway tolls! "

" The government did act for the wishes of the people. Nobody has any gripes against the truck drivers that deliver goods to businesses. It's the trash trucks that haul their "goods" through our normally quiet neighborhoods that have people ticked off. If it was your neighborhood, you'd feel the same way, Mr. Gramuglia. "

" What encouragement and support? Other than your own numbers I see very little support for your losing cause. Denial is your only salvation at this point. "
