ALBANY — With high winds blowing through Albany, officials have postponed the lighting of the state tree until Monday evening.
Meanwhile, the National Weather Service has issued a wind chill advisory for the northern Adirondacks and St. Lawrence Valley, saying the same cold front would bring subzero temperatures there overnight along with winds of 5 to 15 mph.
The state Office of General Services says the tree lighting will take place 6 p.m. Monday at Empire State Plaza.
In western New York, forecasters say the flow of arctic air would diminish Sunday only after producing lake-effect snows across the Tug Hill Plateau.
