NORWICH -- Authorities are investigating the cause of a fire that killed a central New York man inside his trailer home.
Officials in Chenango County say the fire broke out around 3 p.m. Sunday at the Maple Grove Trailer Park in Norwich.
When firefighters arrived, flames and smoke engulfed the home.
State police say 79-year-old Donald Loomis was pronounced dead at the scene. His wife, 80-year-old Ida Loomis, and his daughter, 40-year-old Christine Loomis, are both at University Hospital in Syracuse where they're being treatment for burns and smoke inhalation.
A nursing supervisor said both women were in critical condition.
