Panthers, Lakers fall in first game of season

The Port Byron girls basketball team fell 37-54 to Onondaga in their season opener on Monday.
Pacing the Panthers was Kaitlyn Knapp who earned 10 points, six rebounds and four blocks.

Nica Dare contributed 10 points and Ali Short added eight points and 10 rebounds.

Port Byron (0-1) hosts Tully Thursday.

Westhill 72, Skaneateles 17

Holly Ross posted nine points to pace the Lakers in their season opener.

“We are a very young team,” Skaneateles coach Bob Braunitzer said. “We played young and made a lot of mistakes.”
