D-days sponsoring trip to Toronto
The Auburn Doubledays are hosting a trip to Toronto on May 30 to 31 to watch the Blue Jays play the Boston Red Sox.
The trip includes two games at the Rogers Centre and hotel accommodations in downtown Toronto.
To reserve a spot on the bus, contact the Doubledays at 255-2489.
A deposit of $125 per person is required and refundable if canceled by Feb. 1.
Both games will begin at 1:07 p.m. and the bus will leave Auburn at 6 a.m. on Saturday, May 30, and return to Auburn immediately following the Sunday game.
Passports will not be required.
Blue Jays pitcher to attend Hot Stove
The Auburn Doubledays seventh annual Hot Stove Dinner and Silent Auction will be held on Saturday, Jan. 31 at the Springside Inn in Auburn.
For the fourth straight year, a current Major League baseball player will be in attendance - this year it's Blue Jays pitcher David Purcey.
Doubledays manager Dennis Holmberg will also be among the guests.
Proceeds from the dinner will go to Matthew House, the Leo Pinckney Scholarship Fund and Hillside Children's Center.
Tickets may be purchased by phone (255-2489) or in person from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday at the Doubledays offices at Falcon Park.
There will also be office hours from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13 and Saturday, Dec. 20.
A table of 10 costs $350, single adult tickets are $38 and children 10-and-under cost $15.
Tickets include a family-style dinner.
The silent auction will include autographed sports memorabilia, tickets to sporting events and gift certificates from area businesses.
Golf range now open at Champions
The Champions for Life Sport Center's golf range is now open from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. from Monday to Friday and noon to 5 p.m. on Saturdays.

The Cato-Meridian wrestling team will be hosting a youth wrestling tournament starting at 9 a.m., Saturday Dec. 14 at Cato-Meridian High School.
Registration forms can be downloaded at cnywrestling.com.
