Cayuga Community College welcomed some new members to its board of trustees, which made changes to its board leadership team.
Jeffrey L. Edwards, of Genoa, was elected as chairman, replacing Joseph T. Michaud, whose nine-year term expired this fall. Edwards, who was appointed by Gov. George Pataki in 2004, previously served as vice chairman under Michaud.

He owns Edward Eggs in southern Cayuga County, served on the county Legislature from 1986 to 1991 and is chairman of the Cayuga County Civil Service Commission.

Serving as CCC board vice chairman is John M. Camardo, of Auburn, who was appointed to the board in 2005 by the county Legislature. Camardo is an alumnus and is general sales manager and customer relations manager for H&L Ford/Lincoln/Mercury in Auburn.

Additionally, Linda P. Van Buskirk, of Auburn, and Stanley J. Kott, of Fleming, were appointed to serve on the board for their first seven-year terms.

Van Buskirk is a Cornell University faculty member and has worked at a number of colleges and universities across the globe, reaching as far as King Saud University in Saudi Arabia and as near as Wells College. She is also a former county Legislator and is a member of the Cayuga County Planning Department's Economic Development Loan Committee.

Kott is chief executive officer of Montpelier Underwriting Inc. in Hartford, Conn., and of Montpelier US Insurance Company in Scottsdale, Ariz. Kott also serves on the boards of the Owasco Watershed Lake Association and is president of the Fleming Improvement Foundation.

He is also a member of the Wells College Board of Trustees, whose finance committee he chairs.

" Just for the record, Linda P. Van Buskirk is a resident of Aurora, not Auburn. "
