A local businessman was charged with felony grand larceny by the state police on Sunday after he was accused failing to pay $19,000 to a customer, troopers said.
Timothy Conroy, 45, of Elbridge, who owns the auction and appraisal companies T.W. Conroy and Associates and its Internet affiliate, My Sister the Lister, is accused of failing to pay a customer after an auction on June 7, troopers said.
Conroy was previously in court in April, when he was ordered to pay nearly $150,000 in a settlement after more than two dozen people filed complaints with the state Attorney General's Office. In those complaints, the plaintiffs accused Conroy of failing them after selling their items at auction.
Leonard Dawson, of Baldwinsville, who is one of the plaintiffs listed in the settlement, said he has not yet received a payment for the $3,500 he is owed.
