Two Cents

Instead of focusing on "recovering missing tax money" why not focus on better spending of tax money - or lowering tax money. Stores would not be losing all their business to Lake Side if their products weren't over three times as expensive.

I'm 56 years old and I've been voting most of my life and I'm done voting, federally state and locally. They're all a bunch of dopes.

I used to like college basketball but now it's become kind of a joke, especially with the economy like it is. These guys come out of high school, go to a university for a year or two and then go on to be millionaires.

The garbage trucks could be hauled from New York City to Geneva on a train, and it would save money and environmental issues. That has been suggested to the powers that be --- Mike Nozzolio and Gary Finch --- but of course we don't want to save money and we don't to do anything that would be too easy.

Why don't you pretentious, arrogant windbags shove a cork in it and stop monopolizing the "Two Cents" column. It is not your personal forum.

Those truckers should have stayed out of that community (Skaneateles) and minded their own business. I don't live there, I live in Auburn.

Two Cents will be updated online as new submissions are called or e-mailed. To contribute new Two Cents items, please call 253-5311 ext. 292 or e-mail twocents@lee.net.

My ex's family came from Brooklyn after the Netherlands, and their 1654 home is still standing with 5 acres in Brooklyn not far from the Dutch Reformed Church they helped to found. Some distant cousins of his, who were distant cousins of each other, were murdered in Auburn and Seward was set to defend the murderer with an insanity plea -- one of the most famous cases in these parts. Oh, wait -- I forgot. The peace is broken by all the garbage trucks rumbling through day and night, many of them bringing us downstaters' garbage and waste, as if we didn't have enough of our own, so much for cleaner, and since the advent of corporate farming, we no longer have a healthier place to live, with our soil, air and water just as polluted with toxins as anything you get in cities.

It's probably just that the cost of living is less -- because the economy has been lousy around here for years, not just since we've seen things falling apart nationally and globally the past few months. "

Maybe your town can afford the increase in price that this will cause(ie increased tolls travel time fuel) I know I really cant. It is also funny that the same town that hates truck traffic and is whining about it is the same town that a few years ago tried to stop the boces project because their citizens didnt want a tax increase. so they complained and complained lowered their tax burden. And now you get to use the cash you saved on the boces project to offset the cost of the rising shipping cost due to the afore mentioned reasons. GOOD JOB KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!!! "

If part of the intestine is trapped, stool may not be able to pass through the intestine. This may cause pain, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal swelling (distension).

The loop of intestine can swell and become tightly trapped (strangulated) in the hernia, which causes the tissue to die (gangrene). If the intestine becomes strangulated, immediate surgery is needed. "

A NY DOT officer will allow you an average of 55 mph on the interstate when autiting your log book, Less when on side roads. Yes there are hills on rt 41 bus not long steep like on rt 20. Also to the other posts, it was said that they make $2,800 per week for one trip a day. "

" cm, that is indeed a dangerous situation. I had a friend who went for a colonoscopy and to have some polyps clipped. Her doc told her she might have some pain afterwards, don't worry about it, and he promptly left on a vacation after the procedure. She had pain and tried to ignore it, but her husband found her writhing on the floor in agony and rushed her in, where they found the doc had put a hole through her bowel and all that waste was leaking into her body. Doc #2, who saved her life in emergency surgery, was pretty upset when he first came out, but within a few hours, the docs were covering up for each other, claiming she had thin walls and it would have happened anyway. None of us believed it for a minute, though she did, and we all gritted our teeth when she went back to Doc #1 for the follow-up surgery (she had to have everything routed to a bag on the outside for a month or two before having everything put back to normal).

We almost lost a friend that night -- it doesn't take long. There's a reason the body eliminates waste outside of itself!

Also, my mistake on the spelling -- incarcerated means "in jail" -- not incarserated. I'll have to look that one up! " "

the same when another BIG truck flips, or a ship leaking oil.

even if more trains are added--BIG TRUCKS will NOT go away, they are still needed!

Just because they make 2800.00 for one run, doesnt equal to 'clear' money.
they do have tolls, repairs, insurance, and gas for the Semi's can be over 1000.00 for one tank full.
