The Department of Environmental Conservation is inviting all residents to get involved by voicing their opinion by Dec. 15 as to how we think they should proceed in New York on gas drilling issues at http://222.dec.ny.gov/energy/46288.html or e-mail to dmnog@gw.dec.state.ny.us with “Scope Comments” in the subject line: Please support Congressman Maurice Hincey's (D-NY) effort to pass bill H.R. 7231. He co-authored this legislation that would close a legislative loophole that exempted drilling and hydraulic fracturing for oil and natural gas exploration from regulation under the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA).
