In a recent letter, “Fiscal conservatism would benefit the U.S. greatly,” the letter writer states: “Since no one but you can know what's best for you, government control can't make your life better.”
He goes on to state: “Government control means someone else has the power to run your life.”
Sure sounds to me that the letter's author believes in complete separation of government and its people relative to (as he states) running your life for you.
Excuse me, but isn't that what government is supposed to do? Excuse me, but isn't the good ol' U.S.A. government supposed to be a government of the people, by the people and for the people, and help its people?
Granted, we haven't had that under Bush and most certainly no fiscal conservatism whatsoever. Seems like our letter is numerous years late. Certainly the Bush government's fiscal responsibility was totally non-existent. Government's special interests took care of that.
If I get what the letter writer is saying, he's saying that the government that's coming into power now should start saving every tax dollar it gets and help absolutely nobody including those who need help the most.
Are you kidding me? In your opinion, you're saying that the new government should just take all the taxpayers' money and give nothing in return.
Take the money and run?
Let's see now, if in the next eight years government stopped spending on social programs that help the least of our brethren, that is supposed to help the poor and the downtrodden?
“Since no one but you can know what's best for you, government can't make your life better.” Are you serious?
You believe that people who lose their jobs, can't find jobs and are flat down and out, don't need government intervention?
What world are you living in? I suppose people don't need SSI or Social Security either.
Quite obviously you believe that our new government should just go about the business of stockpiling our hard earned tax dollars building up trillions of dollars in surplus then just sit in the U.S. treasury vault and gather dust and it would do that until the next Republican president comes along to spend it all again.

yet, even there how many are still collecting for dead people???
SSI though is being greatly abused..
dont you remember nearly the whole town of kids in LA on ADD meds which entitled them to SSI????
and thats just ONE town..
Then we have the abusers for Medicade/Food Stamps/Unemployment/Housing and monthly checks.
I cant imagine the 'free monies' you would find if you look in your own good 'ole Auburn, let alone looking into every town in the USA!
THEN seriously look into how many illegals are receiving funds that should be going to true American families or individuals-- that are in dire need right now!
the scammers are good but the GOV should be better! "
