Cortland won't get its Cortaca Jug rematch with Ithaca. But it will get another game in the NCAA Division III Football Championship.
Port Byron native Ray Miles threw for 175 yards and three touchdowns as the Red Dragons knocked off Plymouth State 31-14 in a first-round game on Saturday at Cortland. It's the Red Dragons' first playoff win since 1988.

Miles was 13-for-23 on the day, and set a school record with 2,493 passing yards on the season.

While the Red Dragons rebounded from last week's 35-13 loss to Ithaca, the Bombers back-tracked.

With 32 seconds left in the fourth quarter, Curry University scored the game-winning touchdown as the second-seeded Bombers were upset 26-21.

Cortland (10-1) will host seventh-seeded Curry on Saturday.

Ithaca ends its season 9-2.

For the Red Dragons, Andrew Giuliano rushed for 113 yards to add to his single-season total of 1,436, a school record. Eric Hajnos, Mike Lane and Zacc Guaragno each caught a touchdown pass from Miles.

Cortland's Matt Berman led the defense with 11 tackles, an interception and a fumble recovery. Richard Rolo forced a fumble and had 10 tackles. Brian Haas and Lou Crispo each had 10 tackles.
