After a week filled with lake effect showers that have covered the region in snow, the area will be getting a break today and into Monday, according to the National Weather Service.
The forecast for the Auburn area today calls for partly sunny skies this afternoon with a high near 31, west winds around 8 mph. Tonight should bring partly cloudy conditions, with a low around 24 and south wind at 8 mph.

During the day Monday, there's a 40 percent chance of rain or snow, but little or no accumulation is expected. Highs will be near 40.

Monday night is when the next batch of steady snow is most likely, with an 80 percent chance of snow showers.
