Cayuga men win Spartan Classic

Jovoun Webb carried the Cayuga Community College men's basketball team to a win over Fulton-Montgomery Community College, 86-72, on Sunday in the championship game of the Cayuga Community College Men's Basketball Classic.
Webb was named the tournament MVP after scoring 22 points. He topped 20 points in both tournament games.

Webb also had 15 rebounds, while Justin Sterling scored 11 points and had eight assists.

Terry Harrison scored 19 points and had 12 rebounds. Chris Martinez and Dashawn White each scored eight, while White had three steals.

Sterling was named to the All-Tournament team.

Cayuga (4-2) hosts Mohawk Valley on Tuesday.

The Spartans suffered their first loss of the season, losing in the championship game.

They were led by Caitlyn Dillard (20 points, seven rebounds), Shakeema Green (12 points, seven steals), Corissa Quattrini (11 points, 11 steals) and Ryan Reeder (seven rebounds, three assists).

Cayuga (5-1) hosts Mohawk Valley on Tuesday.
