UConn coach says he's not eyeing Syracuse job
STORRS, Conn. -- A University of Connecticut spokesman confirms that football coach Randy Edsall does not want to be considered for the coaching vacancy at Syracuse, his alma mater.
Edsall told The Day of New London on Monday that he is not interested in becoming a candidate for the job, and didn't want speculation over his status at Connecticut to distract his football team.
Team spokesman Michael Enright confirmed the news Monday night. Edsall signed a five-year contract with Connecticut in February.
