I missed my writing last month. I just didn't get the time to set down and get it written.
I have been very depressed because I just turned 50, and I can't get over how I noticed things about age much more now than I did before September.
I used to joke when I saw people using pill boxes to keep their pills in order.
My wife picked me up one at our last senior picnic.
I receive ARRP information in the mail now that I'm 50.
When reading the newspaper, I notice the ages of people who have passed more so than I did before. I just realized as I am writing this story that I was only 38 years old when I decided to run for town supervisor. It is truly amazing how fast time goes by.
I am looking at things a lot differently, and I no longer laugh at the people who complain about their age or the pains and aliments they have.
In more serious news:
#&149; The town board and I have been working hard on our 2009 town budget.
After many looks and cuts, we will hold our public hearing Tuesday, Nov. 18. If nothing else is changed, there will be little or no change to this year's tax levy for the town.
#&149; Veterans Day has passed and hopefully people in town stopped by our veterans monument or at least stopped for a moment during Veterans Day and thought about our veterans in Conquest and our country past and present for the personal sacrifice given so we can live our busy lives.
#&149; The Recreation Park Committee is back at doing pancake breakfasts again the third Sunday of the month with the first one being held today. Proceeds go to help build Fred Stoneburg Memorial Baseball Field.
