The Cayuga County Chamber of Commerce will formally recognize the owner of a holistic wellness center and spa in Auburn at a luncheon. Mary Ann Giacona, owner of The Center on Hoffman Street, in Auburn, is the recipient of the 2008 Phyllis Goldman Encouragement Award. The award honors the memory of Phyllis Goldman, an Auburn business owner who inspired and encouraged women to pursue their dreams while cultivating a professional and entrepreneurial mindset, according to a news release from the Chamber. Giancona, a certified Holistic Health Practitioner specializing in energy medicine, has more than 20 years of experience in complementary and alternative medicine.
The Chamber will present Giancona with the award during a luncheon slated for noon, Thursday, Nov. 20, at The Point at Sand Beach and sponsored by Key Bank and Moochler Physical Therapy PC.
Trisha Torrey will be the keynote speaker, presenting “Hiccups and Intuition: Applying Life's Lessons to Your Career,” which details her story of being misdiagnosed with a life-threatening cancer and how that changed her life. The luncheon is open to the public. For reservations, call 252-7921
