A local couple pleaded not guilty in Cayuga County Court Thursday to a combined total of 38 felony drug-related charges.
Cayuga County District Attorney John Budelmann said Luyette Wilder, 34, of 14 Grover St., apartment 1, Auburn, and Krista Huey, 23, of 141 Perrine St., Auburn, are both accused of selling nearly $500 in cocaine to confidential informants between August 2007, and October 2008.
The defendants have had a romantic relationship, Budelmann said. Wilder is accused of setting up most of the drug deals and Huey is accused of making the sales.
According to a Cayuga County Grand Jury indictment, the couple is also accused of possessing $5,194 and 7.2 grams of cocaine when they were apprehended by the Auburn Police Department on Oct. 9.
Budelmann said investigators believe the drugs came from a supplier in Wayne County, but detectives do not know whom that person is.
Wilder pleaded not guilty to fourth-degree conspiracy, 10 counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third-degree, 10 counts of possession of a narcotic drug in the third-degree, one count of possession of a controlled substance in the third-degree and one count of possession of a narcotic drug in the fourth-degree. He will remain in the Cayuga County Jail in lieu of bail, which is set at $15,000 cash or $30,000 bond.
Huey pleaded not guilty to fourth-degree conspiracy, seven counts of criminal possession of a narcotic drug in the third-degree, six counts of criminal possession of a narcotic drug in the third-degree, and one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth-degree. She will remain at the jail in lieu of bail, which was set at $7,500 cash or $15,000 bond.
