Kelsey Roe earned a spot at the state meet while Ashley King set a new school record in the 500 freestyle as the Auburn girls swimming team placed fifth at the Section III Championships at Nottingham High School on Saturday.
CBA won with 397 points, and was followed by Fayetteville-Manlius (299), New Hartford (242), Liverpool (213), Auburn (181), Cicero-North Syracuse (165), Oswego (116), Westhill/Corcoran (106), Carthage (99) and Mexico (94).
Skaneateles finished 18th with 21 points.
Roe took sixth in the 100 butterfly (1:01.89). It's her first time qualifying for NYSPHSAA meet, which will be held in two weeks in Buffalo.
Roe also took seventh in the 100 backstroke (1:03.42).
King finished fourth in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:27.58, breaking the school's old mark of 5:29.23.
King also took 11th (2:04.71) in the 200 freestyle.
Makenzie Hauger just missed out on qualifying for states with a seventh-place finish in the 100 breastroke. Her time of 1:10.63 was one-hundredth of a second off the qualifying time.
Hauger also placed seventh (2:24.86) in the 200 IM.
Tiffani Chehovich finished 12th (1:15.20) in the event.
The Maroons placed fifth in the 200 medley relay (1:56.71) with Michaela Elliott, Hauger, Roe and Tiffany Kline.
Mallorie Dygert placed eighth (57.19) in the 100 freestyle and was 16th (26.49) in the 50 freestyle.
Dygert, King, Kara Cunningham and Molly Swartz finished seventh (1:45.78) in the 200 freestyle relay, while Roe, King, Dygert and Cunningham placed fifth (3:47.46) in the 400 freestyle relay.
Cunningham finished 15th (2:06.61) in the 200 freestyle and sixth (5:37.14) in the 500 freestyle.
Chehovich placed 12th (1:15.20) in the 100 breaststroke.
For the Lakers, Holly Ross, Britton Weber, Racheal DeWitt and Sarah Sawyer finished 14th (1:50.01) in the 200 freestyle relay, while Nikki Cole, DeWitt, Sawyer and Weber placed 12th (4:05.34) in the 400 freestyle relay.
Sawyer finished 13th (5:45.46) in the 500 freestyle.
Kaela Fiutak took 16th (285.17) in the diving competition.
