Cody Stanton made history and Rachel Hosie got some redemption at the NYSPHSAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday at Sunken Meadow State Park.
Jordan-Elbridge's Stanton matched school history with a fifth-place finish in the Class C race. He finished in 17:10.2.
Jeremy Cornue finished fifth in 1998 for the Eagles and previously held the highest finish in school history.
Skaneateles' Hosie just missed states last season, but didn't disappoint in her first experience. Hosie took sixth overall in Class D with a time of 20:10.
Moravia's Jason Phillips and Aimee Glenister also proudly represented their school. In his fourth straight appearance at the state championships, Phillips finished 10th (17:40) in Class D.
Glenister made her first appearance at states and finished 57th (23:19).
Jordan-Elbridge's Mike Marrero finished 13th in Class C with a time of 17:29 and Port Byron's Christian Cobb took 51st in Class D with 18:50.
