An Auburn man was killed early Thursday morning in an accident on a foggy road in Aurelius.
State police said Dennis Weatherstone, 52, of 126 Franklin St., Auburn, was riding a scooter on Clark Street Road, which is also routes 5 and 20 in Aurelius, when a van driven by Andrew Fayette, 19, pulled out of Fayette's driveway at 961 Clark Street Road, and into the path of the scooter.
Police said Weatherstone struck the driver's door of the van and that he and the scooter came to rest in the westbound lane of the roadway, where both were then struck by a car driven by Melissa Marl, 35, of 135 Owasco St., Auburn.
Police said there was heavy fog in the area at the time and that the weather was a contributing factor in the accident.
Police said Thursday afternoon that no charges had been filed and the investigation was continuing.
