With all of the political rubbish in the mainstream media of late, it was a sorely needed breath of fresh air for me to attend the Satisfied Tour at the Auburn Alliance Church, featuring three well-known Christian rock bands, inspirational speeches, and a social gospel message.
Since I work on weekends, I missed the first band, Sevenglory, so I cannot comment on their performance. I came in during the second band's performance. Ruth (named after lead singer Dustin Ruth) is a hard-driving rock band that was fun to listen to, although I could not hear the lyrics very well. This was unfortunate, since lyrics make Christian music what it is - an alternative to worldly rock. All of the singers and speakers suffered from a sound system or perhaps acoustics that weren't quite right; the bass and echo came across as too strong. On the other hand, it was great to see kids of middle school age jumping to the music up front, having the time of their lives.
The star of the show was Grammy-nominated band, Decemberadio, led by vocalist and bass player, Josh Reedy. The music of this band is top notch, definitely influenced by some of the classic '70s and '80s “southern” rock I heard as a kid. The songs were hard-driving but carefully crafted by these highly talented musicians, with Brian Bunn on lead guitar and vocals, Eric Miker on guitar and vocals, and Boone Daughdrill on drums. For me, the best part of the show was “Drifter,” one of Decemberradio's current hits that is getting a lot of air play on Christian stations.
Lots of people did not know the names of the musicians; I knew about Decemberadio because I had one of their CDs. This concert was also under-attended, considering the capacity of the hall. The event was probably under-promoted, but it was the best twenty bucks worth of good music I've ever heard in Auburn, and well worth venturing out on a cold night to hear.

What absolute CRAP!
Rock and Roll is about sex, drugs, partying, and living in rebellion.
You wanna sing about Jesus? GO TO CHURCH!
Pffffffffffffffffttt!!!! "
