Turn to Scripture for guidance before vote

Sunday, November 2, 2008 12:19 AM EDT

“If thy people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicket ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive this sin and heal their land.” 1 Chronicles 7:14.
On Nov. 4, America will elect not only our next president and vice president and leaders of our state houses. The stakes have never been higher - never in America's 232-year history do we have more to gain or lose - our freedom.

Isaiah 32:8 stated our choices this way: “But the liberal deviseth liberal things; and by liberal things shall be stand.”

Isaiah 32:17 I feel presents the conservatives views ever so right “and the work of righteousness shall be peace,” and “the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance for ever.” Verse 18 goes on, “and my people (God's people of America) shall dwell in a peaceful habitation, and in sure dwellings and in quiet resting places.”

Look well to your ballot. Choose carefully who will best rule you.

" Your point is as intelligent as praying for the Yankees to win the World Series against the godless Phillies. All the praying in the world couldn't help the Yanks this year. Darn those spawn of satan Phillies. "

" Even for people of the Christian faith, you cannot ignore the fact that The Bible contradicts itself left and right. In one place it says "An eye for an eye" and in another it says "Turn the other cheek." In one place it says incest is a sin and in another it has some old guy lying with his daughters because their race is dying out. I'm sure you can find justification for ANYTHING in the text of the Bible -- as well as its opposite, making it entirely useless as a voting guide! "

" Gloria and Gene. your letter is just so full of self-contradictions and sheer ridiculousness that I don't even know where to start!!!
"God's people of America) shall dwell in a peaceful habitation, and in sure dwellings and in quiet resting places"--DO YOU MEAN IN THE WORLD OF TWO WARS STARTED BY THE CONSERVATIVES?!?!
And are the "sure dwellings" the home THAT HAVE BEEN FORECLOSED UPON BY THE CONSERVATIVES WHO HAVE RUINED THE "AMERICAN DREAM"?!?!?!
WARNING!!!

" Close you eyes and point to a page in the Bible to make a decision, like they used to do in the Middle Ages, how's that for sensible? Ye gods. "
