It is time to prepare to support whichever candidate for president wins. Divisiveness is natural from a strenuous campaign but must be turned off after this election because America is at the most serious economic crossroad in decades. The candidates have well thought-out positions. Each is of good character and is intellectually and emotionally prepared.

For the near past two years we#'ve listened to the two-party system and their machinery of politics at work in the media. Like a scratched classic LP.

Mr. Neagle, if Sarah Palin causes you fear, wait until people like you vote in Obama. Then, and only then, will you realize what fear is. Some of you people should wonder how Obama, with all his experience of 143 days, could reach the height in politics of running for our country's leader. Where does he get all of this money? Why is he spending it on ads against an opponent he thinks he is so much smarter than? Have you people even thought of who the ones giving him all this money are? He will be beholden to them.

Response to Mr. Newman#'s letter on Oct. 26: Mr. Newman, my opinion is just that, my opinion. It is what I value, what I believe in. I believe the people need to know who Obama is since our left wing media likes to omit a lot of pertinent facts.

Some might be scared off by one of the vice president candidates in this year's offering to us and have voted already, but let's look at all of them a little longer and as if we were not in their party. The campaigns have largely been directed to win applause from party members, either Democrat or Republican.

There is no lever for “the lesser of two evils.” There are two corporately anointed candidates who are so much alike that they nit-pick at each other like a couple old ladies (Sorry, old ladies). And right above each of these candidates is a lever for “keep up the good work, Dem/Rep party.”

There are many moral failures - such as unjust wars and a widening gap between the rich and poor - for which we will need to answer to future generations.

I am disgusted to see the commercial Mike Arcuri is running about Richard Hanna. The general public should be outraged by the flat out lies in the advertisement. I expect more from elected officials, and if anyone should know how wrong it is to be untruthful then I imagine it would be Mr. Arcuri. The 2006 Congressional campaign was one of the most repugnant in the nation. Now, two years later, Mr. Arcuri is using smear tactics? It makes me sick.

I haven't been a political party member for 40 years. I find too much party bias that promotes people to believe they don't have to think in order to vote right. But with this election, I support and admire Richard Hanna's candidacy for our District 24, U.S. House of Representatives.

While over the final days of the 2008 election the television, Internet and newspaper media will be primarily focused on the presidential election, it is important for voters to realize that other contested races also appear on the ballot. These additional contests present equally important choices that need to be made.
