Hello, I read that the Chicago Tribune, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, and many other newspapers have come out of the closet and openly and officially back Obama for President.
So much for unbiased news coverage people could count on.
Are the media's owners out of their minds as legitimate journalists?
What ever happened to unbiased news reporting?
I think that journalists need to start taking something akin to a Hippocratic oath doctors take - but this one is to cover news in an unbiased manner. The media is the eyes and ears of the masses - though it cannot think for us - the scary thing is that so many allow it to think for them.
This all makes me think of Germany in the 1930's.
In my own opinion, if Obama is elected - and the media is telling us he will win by a landslide - he will ruin this nation - I mean really ruin us.
Then, the media will have to own that they were in bed with him in his campaign of 2008. That will ruin the reputation of the media for a long long time.
For once you blow your trust with people - it's a long, hard road to get it back. Thank you.

And sure enough, “Countdown” did displace “The O’Reilly Factor,” hosted by Mr. Olbermann’s arch-nemesis Bill O’Reilly, last week in that demographic.
It was an admittedly unusual week, fueled by the final Democratic primaries. Excluding Tuesday’s primary coverage, “Countdown” netted 477,000 viewers in the demographic, while the “Factor” averaged 472,000. The “Countdown” ratings helped MSNBC best Fox in the demo in prime time for the week."

CNN ranked ninth among all cable channels for the quarter with an average 1.3 million viewers, its biggest quarter since the Iraq war began in early 2003. MSNBC was 23rd with 867,000 total viewers and also posted the biggest year-to-year quarterly growth spurts: 81% in prime time and 48% for total-day.
For total-day, Fox averaged 1.1 million viewers to rank sixth among all cable channels, while CNN ranked 11th with an average 713,000 viewers. MSNBC averaged 472,000 viewers and ranked 27th." HUFFINGTON POST "

movedsouth, you're obviously in over your head here, in all seriousness. Look, the Neoconservatives use falsehoods to promote policy; it;s the way that they govern, It is a stated principle of their ideological mentor, Leo Strauss. That is beyond debate, ok? It would stand to reason that they would need a propaganda outlet with which to disseminate said propaganda, do Murdoch--a die-hard loyal Republiscum--started Faux News.
Bill O'Really? has been caught by Kieth Olberman blatantly making up fake studies, organizations, and references to try to support his agenda and talking points. And the fact that the Bush administration considered Faux News to be it's #1 favorite station speaks volumes. Liars need Liars to spread their lies.
By the way--Keith Olberman just reported that his show and MSNBC has beat O'Really? more than half of the last two weeks' viewers. Just google "Olberman ratings beat O'Reilly's"--go ahead; I dare ya! "

Also, I believe that there is a DIRECT CORRELATION between the primacy of FOX News in the ratings, and the state of the country today! A DIRECT LINE!!!!
Honestly, ms--for crying out loud, Faux News was started to deliberately skew news--that came from the founder himself, Rupert Murdoch. Really!
Isn't it seriously SAD that Americans have become do divided and polarized by scumbags like O'Reallly (?), Hannity, and the rest of the little puppets on that network that the hatred and racism that they spew has such appeal to such a large number of Americans?
That's the fruit of the Republican administrations thus far to America.
And that's S-A-D. "

MSNBC, CNBC, CNN Headline News Experience Growth
By Marisa Guthrie -- Broadcasting & Cable, 1/4/2008 5:11:00 PM
Fox News Channel once again ended the year as cable’s top news network, followed by CNN, with few radical ratings dips or surges for either network. But among the channels with smaller audience totals -- MSNBC, CNBC and CNN Headline News -- 2007 was a year of growth.
For the year in primetime, Fox News was the No. 6-ranked cable channel behind USA Network, TNT, ESPN, TBS and Lifetime Television. That’s two notches higher than its ranking last year. CNN, its closest news competitor, was No. 26, down one.
Fox News was down 1% in total viewers in total day and 3% in the 25-54 demographic, but it still boasted most of the top-rated shows on cable news led by The O’Reilly Factor, which has been No. 1 in its 8 p.m. time slot for 85 consecutive months." "

Karl, where is the truth in that?? "

Rupert Murdoch and FOX News came along and forever skewed the face of Truth in Journalism, Tim. A network concocted entirely to simply "spin" the news and provide something more akin to propaganda than fact.
Does that answer your question?
"...once you blow your trust with people - it's a long, hard road to get it back"
You said it there, buddy.
Oh and uh,...a word of advice, Tim--sometimes what seems to people to be "unbiased" is just the Truth about a certain political group and the uncomfortable Truth about them that one does not want to hear. The media is backing Obama because America is backing Obama. "
