The Auburn Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in a home burglary that occurred in the area of Clymer Street and South Street at about midnight Tuesday. Police said in a news release that it appears that two stolen bicycles taken from the area had been left in the side yard of the residence and the residence was entered. Numerous items were taken from inside the home while an occupant was in an adjacent room. The suspects then stole a silver/gray car from the garage and fled the area, police said. The vehicle was found within the hour abandoned in the downtown area with front tire damage. Anyone with further information may call the Auburn Police Department at 253-3235 or lead detective Kyle Platt at 255-4702. Police said callers may remain anonymous.
