Bear Bones Bar-B-Que & Grill will celebrate its grand opening by launching a jazz and blues series beginning this weekend.
The Auburn barbecue joint, which began serving customers at the end of June, will kick off its series with a performance by The Stardust Lounge Blues Band featuring Tom Townsley from 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday, Nov. 1, followed by the Ronnie Leigh Jazz Quartet from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, and then a blues engagement featuring The Bonecasters at 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday, Nov. 8.
Owner Mike “Turbo” Tarby is pleased to announce the new music series. His venue will present live jazz every Wednesday with added specials such as veal, prime rib, jambalaya and wine tasting.
“We offer what many have been asking for with a fine dining atmosphere,” Tarby said in a press release. “Jazz and blues music will be part of our regular fare. No one else in Auburn offers what we do.”
The future jazz line-up includes: Back To The Roots featuring Lyman “Butch” Strong Nov. 12, the Kevin Dorsey Collective Nov. 19, Lou Nocilly & Jazzitude Dec. 3 and Don Martin Jazz Trio featuring Jane Murlin Dec. 10. The Intention, Bernie Upson Trio and Neal Massa Jazz Piano Trio are among others to perform.
The blues acts with planned appearances include: Phil Petroff & Natural Fact, Stevie Wolf & The Blues Express, Los Blancos, Shakedownblues Band, the Ron Spencer Band, Dr. Killdean, the Pete McMahon & Jerry Neely Duo, Morris & The Hepcats, the Coupe de Villes, John Cole Blues Band, Joe Beard and Bernie Clarke & The Rhythm Sharks.
