Alaska, Palin to come to U.S. rescue again

Friday, October 24, 2008 12:13 AM EDT

“Can anything good come out of Wasilla?” Isn't that part of Seward's Folly? Pundits said it was a waste of money. They couldn't believe it could be of any value to the United States.
Well, they were wrong! Thar's gold in them there hills and there is gold in that there governor. America is going nowhere. She is the bridge to somewhere.

Alaska is more than terrific scenery, majestic mountains, exotic wildlife and frozen tundra. Alaska's assets include gas wells, mineral ores and oil. Its people are a different breed - tough and self-reliant, able to think for themselves while eking out an existence where many of us would refuse to go.

Alaskans have been in the forefront of America's defense. They were there when the Japanese invaded the Aleutian Islands during WW II. They were there during the Cold War with Russia, and the Distant Early Warning System (DEW) was our northern protection. They were there during that same period when Eskimo scouts from the National Guard rescued the crew of a U.S. Navy Neptune weather plane, shot down in the Bering Sea by Russian Migs.

Now the USA needs a rescuer. She is on the scene, apparently out of nowhere and ready and able to do whatever is necessary. A good balance for McCain and with much more executive experience than Obama, we owe it to ourselves to give this team our support.

" LOL!
rd, there IS NO "intelligent" counterpoint to such a ridiculous, delusional letter!
Palin--a "rescuer"?!
I just cant even be bothered to start telling Wayne why and how he is deludedly WRONG.
Palin would destroy the very underpinnings of the United States and our Democracy if given even half the chance! "

" Palin is a nincompoop who just opens her mouth and says new stupid things daily, including documentable lies. She has wacko ideas and very little experience -- less even than Obama. She comes of very nearly as unstable as that headcase with whom she is running. I don't care about her stupid clothes -- whatever. But the woman has revolting views and no compunction about outright lies, plus anyone who thinks McCain is a GOOD choice for president is not right in the head. "

" I don't know how much longer you fools can take a beating from this power hungry Palin. What foolish act can she committ that you will say enough is enough? She is not worthy of being elected dog catcher but you mindless fools just keep supporting her. Use your brain and have some self respect. "

" Karl, can you not mount a intelligent counterpoint to his argument or are you just stuck in the calling people names mode? "

" I understand it's more important to talk about money spent on clothes than to talk about an 80% approval rating in Alaska. I know being Governor of Alaska is no comparison to Obama's vast executive experience. LET'S NOT FORGET Obama's ties to a terrorist, 20 years with his mentor Wright, his ties to ACORN, and his pot smoking days. That was all in Obama's past, his character is better now. "

" She runs a corrupt and unethical government. Need I say more? Or do all politicians need a Louis Vutton bag for their 7 yr old at the party's expense. Wake up you blithering fool. $150,000 for designer clothes? "

" Palin has executive experience, something that neither Presidential candidate has. She has fought the GOP in Alaska, fought the oil companies, and lowered taxes. Recent Presidents have been former Gov., not Senators. She is the only one of the four with that experience. "
