Weber helps swim Lakers to win

Britton Weber led the Skaneateles girls swim team to a 97-77 win over Cazenovia, Tuesday.
She had a first place finish in the 50 freestyle (27.83) and a first in the exhibition in the 100 backstroke, while also breaking the school record in the event (1:10.30). In the 200 medley relay, Weber, Paige Williams, Holly Ross and Nicole Wawro took first (2:12.10).

Sarah Sawyer came in first in the 200 freestyle (2:11.14), while anchoring the team's first place finish in the 200 freestyle relay with Jen Sawyer, Nikki Cole and Kelsey Beyor (1:59.49).

Ross took first in the 200 individual medley (2:48.19) and the 100 butterfly (1:13.66). Racheal DeWitt came in first in the 100 freestyle (1:00.34), while Sarah Sawyer placed first in the 200 freestyle (2:11.14).

BOYS CROSS COUNTRY

Adam Wiethuechter came in 52nd for the Blue Devils (21:51), while Billy Janke came in third in the ninth grade race (9:20). Richie Bentley came in 14th (10:30) in the ninth grade race, while Alex Seaman took 16th (10:33).

The Blue Devils race at Marathon in the IAC Championships, Saturday.

Southern Springs was led by Alex Schmitt took 22nd (17:45) as the team's scores were unavailable.

Zach Casper came in 45th (19:22), Ryan Gill placed 53rd (21:54). Riley Shurtleff came in 54th (21:55) and Sam Ayers finished in 55th (22:45). Ted Alnutt came in 58th (23:02).

GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY

Moravia, Inc. Southern Springs, Inc.

Alicia McLaughlin placed 44th for the Blue Devils (22:27). Aimee Glenister came in 47th (22:31), Kayla Slater placed 70th (24:13) and Diane Stinler took 76th (24:25).

Southern Springs' Michelle Wilmot took 45th (22:29), while Maria Foraker came in 95th (26:35).

VOLLEYBALL

Southern Cayuga 3, Union Springs 0

Hannah Moniz had four aces, eight service points, two kills, an assist and four digs in the Wolves' 30-28, 25-21, 25-22 loss.

Susan Nanna finished with three aces, 13 service points, two assists, two digs and a kill, while Carli Jakaub assisted a point, 13 service points, an ace and four kills.

Courtney Kirschner had seven service points, two kills and two digs, while Chelsea Fearon assisted two, had six service points and a dig. Stephanie Quill had two kills.
