Elected officials will join representatives of the Saratoga Cheese Corp. on Thursday afternoon to announce they've secured a package of state and local benefits to help bring a $40 million cheese-making facility to the Aurelius Business Park.
Various county and city of Auburn officials have been working on the project over the past year. Saratoga Cheese is looking to establish a kosher-cheese facility that would employ more than 70 people and generate $100 million in sales annually.
A key issue in the talks has been the city's willingness to work with the county on infrastructure and Empire Zone services for a project outside the city lines.
The announcement with the latest details on the project will take place at Auburn's Memorial City Hall.
