Buffalo-area college student killed by hit-and-run driver
HAMBURG — Police are searching for the hit-and-run driver who killed a 19-year-old college student walking home early Saturday in western New York.
According to investigators, the sport utility vehicle struck Meghan Sorbera, throwing her about 30 feet, and she suffered fatal head injuries about 1:35 a.m.
She was walking with friends to their house near the Hilbert College campus in Hamburg, south of Buffalo, after working at a haunted house at the Erie County fairgrounds.
