I have been sitting here for over a year listening to the mud-slinging going on about the Meridian Fire Department. I have had enough.

Shame on all of the people who are involved in the trash talk. It just goes to show it's easier to point fingers than to lend a helping hand. Volunteer fire and rescue personnel should be commended at all times for what they do. Just imagine what it would be like if we didn't have them.

I'm sure Meridian Fire Chief Amed Perrotta could use more volunteers to help the fire department. Even if it's just a phone call to offer some good advice or to hear that he is doing a good job.

Try it, you might feel better about yourself.
