ALBANY -- With the presidential election just weeks away, independent candidate Ralph Nader is bringing his campaign to upstate New York.

The longtime consumer advocate will be in Albany and New Paltz Thursday and he's hoping to attract some of the state's disaffected voters. This time he's focusing heavily on Wall Street's downfall, and counting on his sharp contrast to the major parties' support of bailouts.

Along with cracking down on corporate crime, the 74-year-old political activist is also pushing for single-payer health care and calling for a carbon pollution tax. He'll head to Buffalo on Friday for more rallies.

Nader and running mate Matt Gonzalez are on the ballot in 45 states, including California and New York.
