Auburn cross country to be commended

Tuesday, October 14, 2008 11:55 PM EDT

The one thing that Auburn cross country has shown me this year is a commitment to excellence. The boys and girls teams have come a long way. I have watched two individuals that I can think of come from running around a 24-25 minute 5k times, to now in the 21-22 minute range. A couple years ago I came out to a meet and watched Auburn get dominated, but they had the spirits of a team that had just won the World Series. I attended another meet, and all of the Auburn teams on each level completely dominated their opponents.
The most important thing for me to see was the sportsmanship that they showed after the race. I would also like to commend the coaching staffs on their commitment to these students this year. Nice job all!
