A week and a half or so ago I sent you some info for your Hits & Misses column because I had just sent in a letter on the politicians. The Hits & Misses information was on the electric high line from Oneida County to Orange County and New York City that will destroy two villages plus individual farms and homes. On Oct. 6, 2008, Paul Harvey noon report, it told of a single business that through solar hot water and solar electric they have no electric or hot water bills and a surplus of electricity. Instead of destroying hundreds of people's lives why can't New York City and Orange County do the same thing?
I do not have a computer or www connections so I can't tell you how to contact Paul Harvey.
In the Monday, Oct.6, page A4, the article,“Death penalty doesn't keep society safer,” proves itself wrong in the fourth paragraph. If Massie had been executed before 1972 or the latest 1978, the liquor store operator would still be alive and America would be safer. The lawyers would be a little poorer and the citizens' taxes a lot lower. Why should the taxpayers have to take away from their families to keep scumbag killers alive and healthy and pay for the judges and lawyers for all the stupid appeals.

Sorry, George, but the system has way too many problems that sacrifice innocent people's lives. "
