On the night of Tuesday, Oct. 7, at around 7 p.m., my daughter Bailey and I were driving home on Route 90 in Union Springs when we hit a deer. We were both very shaken up and frightened, then some very sincere people stopped to make sure we were OK.

A week and a half or so ago I sent you some info for your Hits & Misses column because I had just sent in a letter on the politicians. The Hits & Misses information was on the electric high line from Oneida County to Orange County and New York City that will destroy two villages plus individual farms and homes. On Oct. 6, 2008, Paul Harvey noon report, it told of a single business that through solar hot water and solar electric they have no electric or hot water bills and a surplus of electricity. Instead of destroying hundreds of people's lives why can't New York City and Orange County do the same thing?
