When we get rain or snow, how do we get to those kiosks and back to vehicles? Bring back the parking meters; at the very least they were a lot cheaper.
Now that we're into October, why don't we get some spooky movies on our channels? It's right in the season now.
While the kiosks are a real pain, I agree that parking meters should come back downtown. What do we do when it's raining, we don't all have umbrellas?
I think we need to get a lot of people that are a lot smarter in politics today. With the recent problems financial and just the overall outlook on state, local and federal politicis, we have a lot of stupid people that we vote for.

how is it harsh?
its the truth.
walmart is built on cheap prices. the economy is not in good shape now. how can they make sure they can keep there prices low? by having as few employees working as possible. so what, you want your stuff cheap? or fast? pick one. in rough economic times people have to do things they don't want to. and you are whining because you have to wait a few extra minutes out of your precious time? Guess what, no one cares. wait a minute or shop elsewhere, where it might not be so cheap. the lines aren't so long there and you can be on your way. "

By the way, coach, I agree with the need to debate all issues fairly. Which is why we need to reinstate the Fairness Doctrine which was repealed under Ron Raygun (you know, Mike Reagan's daddy). Problem solved. "

He just drained out a barrel of concord/catawba wine (into bottles) -- those really have to be drunk up quickly once they are out of the barrel. But he filled that one and another with red grape juice in one and white grape juice in the other. In another couple months, he'll get the barrel of cider, which may go in my basement, as his is getting full. He used to keep it in the old milkhouse, but kids broke in and not only stole the cider, they took the whole barrel. It costs him about $80 to replace just the barrel alone, not to mention he worried about liability, so now it gets locked in the house -- even though it is a bear with 3-5 adult men to maneuver it down the stairs.
The party was a lot of fun. We had 22 guests, coming steadily from the first one a few minutes after the noon whistle and the last ones going about 10 to 6. We ate, and drank and there were lots of animated and interesting conversations going on all around. I drank very little because I was running around giving tours of the upstairs and replenishing glasses and food and so forth. Friends of mine, and of Farmer Guy's, from all parts of our lives came, so we had a good mix of people, some who knew each other but hadn't seen each other in years, and others who'd never met.
All in all, a terrific success. Brew, you'll have to come out for a visit when you retire and move back to the area. CM, you are more than welcome. Any friend is welcome any time I am home -- just look for the white Corolla out front. "

you are the one who shopped at walmart. thats what you get. cheap prices and long lines. thats what happens to places who want to keep prices a little cheaper in bad economic times. Its a trade off. But you are the one who decided to shop there, so please, shut up. Go elsewhere if you are willing to pay a little extra and get through a little quicker. "

'Welcome to heaven,' says St. Peter. 'Before you settle in, it seems there is a problem. We seldom see a high official around these parts, you see, so we're not sure what to do with you'
'No problem, just let me in,' says the senator. 'Well, I'd like to, but I have orders from higher up. What we'll do is have you spend one day in hell and one in heaven. Then you can choose where to spend eternity.'
'Really, I've made up my mind. I want to be in heaven,' says the senator.
'I'm sorry, but we have our rules.'
And with that, St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell. The doors open and he finds himself in the middle of a green golf course. In the distance is a clubhouse and standing in front of it are all his friends and other politicians who had worked with him.
Everyone is very happy and in evening dress. They run to greet him, shake his hand, and reminisce about the good times they had while getting rich at the expense of the people.
They play a friendly game of golf and then dine on lobster, caviar and champagne.
Also present is the devil, who really is a very friendly guy who has a good time dancing and telling jokes. They are having such a good time that before he realizes it, it is time to go.
Everyone gives him a hearty farewell and waves while the elevator rises .
The elevator goes up, up, up and the door reopens on heaven where St. Peter is waiting for him. 'Now it's time to visit heaven.'
So, 24 hours pass with the senator joining a group of contented souls moving from cloud to cloud, playing the harp and singing. They have a good time and, before he realizes it, the 24 hours have gone by and St. Peter returns.
'Well, then, you've spent a day in hell and another in heaven. Now choose your eternity.'
The senator reflects for a minute, then answers: 'Well, I would never have said it before, I mean heaven has been delightful, but I think I would be better off in hell.'
So St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell.
Now the doors of the elevator open and he's in the middle of a barren land covered with waste and garbage.
He sees all his friends, dressed in rags, picking up the trash and putting it in black bags as more trash falls from above... The devil comes over to him and puts his arm around his shoulder. 'I don't understand,' stammers the senator. 'Yesterday I was here, and there was a golf course and clubhouse, and we ate lobster and caviar, drank champagne, and danced and had a great time. Now there's just a wasteland full of garbage and my friends look miserable. What happened?'
The devil looks at him, smiles and says.......
'Yesterday we were campaigning.
Today you voted.' "

however, we used to have to wear name tags--and nothing more embarrassing as to have the supervisor NOT know where a pen, scissors, order form, catalog was!
So when I did my set-ups, I organized ALL checkstands the SAME!
since I managed 2 yrs prior to becoming a supervisor, I knew where things should be placed for daily usage.
Since this was my only peeve everyone was willing to please me! lol...
when I brought this issue up at a meeting--the whole room of supervisors had their 'stories to tell'.

Those that worked under me, about 70-100 people--didn't really work under me--they worked beside me. We consider ourselves a family.
I ALWAYS listened to their ideas-if it was better than mine-go for it.
I had many ideas for improvements-many were implemented-yet I never received credit for them, except within my own 'family' who knew where the idea began.
I too gave rewards and had weekly FUN competitions. Which were paid for out of MY pocket. Yet worth every cent!
When I arrived at any location, they did not fear me for I made sure they all knew I was there to help not reprimand.
When 'the bosses' gave me BS in daily emails, expecting me to rule with an iron fist, instead I stuck up for 'my family' and gave them the respect they deserved.
This year, I am stepping down to manager (voluntary) and working close to home. With so many changes at my home, I cannot be logging over 10,000 miles in 3 months, especially since I am pretty much the 24/7 only parent right now to a 9yr old.
My phone has been ringing off the wall for over a month--they 'family' is upset at my change of position. But I have to do what's right for myself and daughter.
I will miss my old position but I won't miss the daily bossy emails!
so brew, since we 'work' alike, yes, I could work for you, or you could work for me--lol. "

Although I dearly wanted to obtain convictions against all the Weathermen, including Bill Ayers, I am very pleased to learn that he has become a responsible citizen.
Because Senator Obama recently served on a board of a charitable organization with Mr. Ayers cannot possibly link the senator to acts perpetrated by Mr. Ayers so many years ago.
I do take issue with the statement in your news article that the Weathermen indictment was dismissed because of “prosecutorial misconduct.” It was dismissed because of illegal activities, including wiretaps, break-ins and mail interceptions, initiated by John N. This time the source is Obama himself. After a week of denying that he had any knowledge of Ayers' terrorist past, Obama will admit that he did learn of Ayers' role in the 1970's bombing campaign against the U.S. Capitol, the Pentagon, and New York City Police Headquarters, among other targets, but chose to associate himself with Ayers anyway.
Sen. Obama told a Philadelphia talk radio host in an interview to be broadcast tomorrow that he met Ayers while serving on the board of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, a philanthropy that distributed roughly $50 million dollars for education projects in the Chicago area.
Obama explained his service with Ayers essentially as a case of bad judgment.
Now that he has admitted he thought Ayers' radical past was behind him, Obama will have to answer why he continued to serve with Ayers' on the board of the Woods Fund in late 2001 and 2002.
By that time, it should have been clear the Ayers' was unrepentant. Ayers' now infamous New York Times op-ed was published on September 11, 2001. In that article, Ayers said that he did not regret setting bombs, "I wish we had done more," he said.
And Ayers was featured on the cover of Chicago Magazine standing on an American flag during the same time frame.
Now that Obama has admitted that he did know of Ayers' past, he will have to provide an explanation for continuing to associate with him after it was clear that he had not been "rehabilitated" "

The problem is, that the employees that represent our county, are not even living in the county. That is ridiculous. Not only that, but when we pay them, we are losing the income they make to another county. The county could use those people within our boundaries. Not only property taxes, sales taxes, etc, but our businesses are also losing the income that these employees bring home and spend elsewhere. Most municipalities have these rules, why not cayuga county? "

Why is it that we allow our county employees to live outside of the county? Seems like it would only make sense to restrict them to living within our county borders, much like the city of auburn does with their employees, as does most municipalities.

It isn't true. "

And for what?
Why, because China has bankrolled the stupid, pointless, destructive, unwinnable war, of course! We can't say no to their unsafe products because then they might call in their loans and we don't even have money to cover our financial industry, much less our debts!
Thanks so much, Bush, Clinton, Reagan and all the rest on both sides of the 2-party system -- they all belong to the corporations who have put profits before absolutely everything else and now we will all pay for their greed and influence over "our" government as an instrument of their greed. "

More fun facts about the hypocritical Obamessiah...
His financial consultant "Franklin Raines, the former top man at Fannie Mae, bought a three-bedroom, seven-bath penthouse condominium in the West End’s Ritz-Carlton Residences for $4.9 million. The condo has a rooftop terrace with a hot tub, a butler’s pantry, and three parking spaces. Raines, director of the US Office of Management and Budget under President Clinton, was CEO of Fannie Mae from 1999 to 2004."

Obama cries about sacrafice yet his financial advisor, per USA today:
“Regulators have said that of the $90 million paid to Mr. Raines from 1998 to 2003 at least $52 million — more than half — was tied to bonus targets that were reached by manipulating accounting,” The New York Times reported two years ago.

The fact is, that Republicans have been engineering voter fraud, blocking access to voters ,and electioneering for the last 30 years. What comes around goes around. Pooh pooh!

ACORN has been implicated in voter-fraud schemes in 15 states.
