In goal, Amanda Stone had six saves.
Southern Spring's Melana Ott scored the team's lone goal. Southern Springs had several fast breaks opportunities, but was unable to score.
“We didn't have any help down on the other end,” Southern Spring's coach Danielle Shutter said.
Molly Clifford also had a goal-scoring opportunity, but a key Stone save prevented the score.
“The girls played a great game,” Shutter said. “They came out strong, but just got overpowered.”
Katie Smith had 12 saves for Southern Springs.
Southern Springs (2-8) travels to Newark Valley, Saturday.
“We got them before,” Shutter said.
Southern Springs will work on its offensive and defensive strategy during practice this week.
“We need to be more aggressive in the circles,” Shutter said.
