An area manufacturer will add 60 new jobs to the payroll, thanks in part to a sizable state grant.
According to the office of state Sen. Michael Nozzolio, ITT Goulds Pumps in Seneca Falls is investing $10 million to renovate the company's manufacturing operations.
Not only will ITT Goulds add the jobs, it will retain more than 750 positions, according to the written announcement.
The expansion is aided by a $1.5 million grant from the Empire State Development Corp. that will go toward renovations and upgrades to the 850,000 square-foot factory, where products are assembled and tested.
Nozzolio worked closely with the company and Empire State Development to secure the grant. According to Nozzolio's office, ITT Goulds was considering moving the Seneca Falls facility to Pennsylvania.
ITT Goulds manufactures water utility, irrigation and industrial pumps.
More than a million of the company's pumps have been installed around the world.
