Q. What is the most rewarding part of your job?

A. Getting people through what is often times the roughest patch of their lives. I cover divorces, custody and child supervision and visitation.

Q. What is the most challenging?

A. Dealing with the emotions that come with the job. Because people are generally going through a rough part of their lives, working with the professional and emotional circumstances is a big part of the job.

Q. What's the best way to relax after a tough day?

A. Chasing after my children. I have an 18-year-old who is in college, and a 12- and 7-year-old.

Q. What do you like most about the Finger Lakes region?

A. I love the lakes and the seasons. Summer is my favorite season because I can go swimming in the lake.

Q. If you had a choice of meeting any three people in the world, who would they be and why?

A. I would want to meet John McCain and Barack Obama and personally ask them how they are going to cure our current financial woes. I don't think it has been very well explained by either of them. I would also want to meet Abraham Lincoln because he took our country through the worst time in its history, and he did it with grace.

Q. If you were to win the lottery tomorrow, what is the first thing you'd do?

A. I would do some renovations on my home, and I would take my family on a vacation to Hawaii.

Q. What would people who think they know you be most surprised to find out about you?

A. That I like riding motorcycles, but I don't do it because I have children and I have to be responsible. I am also shier than I appear to be. And I did just get a Facebook account, so I'm feeling young and hip these days.

Q. If you were mayor, what's the first thing you'd change?

A. I might change some of the issues a little bit. I think some people are a little overzealous on things such as the trucking regulations, especially because a lot of trucks owned and used by local businesses get pulled over all the time.

Q. Do you have any special plans for the next few months?

A. I am going to go visit my sister in Vermont. It will be a nice time to go see her because all the leaves are turning colors.
