“Mamma Mia!” will be shown at 7 p.m. Friday, Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 3, 6 and 7, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, at the Smith Opera House, 82 Seneca St., Geneva.
A film adaptation of the 1999 West End stage show, “Mamma Mia!” features a soundtrack of ABBA songs that includes “Honey, Honey” and “Dancing Queen.” Single mother Donna (Meryl Streep) owns a small hotel on a Greek island and readies herself to let go of her daughter, Sophie (Amanda Seyfried), who's about to get married. Donna invites her best friends - the no-nonsense Rosie (Julie Walters) and multiple divorcee Tanya (Christine Baranski) - to the wedding, but Sophie also invites three men (Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth and Stellan Skarsgard) from Donna's past in order to discover the identity of her father. Over the next 24 hours of chaos and magic, new love will bloom and old romances will rekindle.

The film netted the largest weekend box office take of any musical in U.S. history. It is 108 minutes long and rated PG-13 for some sex related comments. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students and seniors. For more information, call 781-LIVE or visit www.thesmith.org.
