The Cayuga County Arts Council has a new home.
The organization officially announced Wednesday that it will relocate to an office in the SS. Peter and John annex building at 169 Genesee St. in Auburn.
The council was previously located at 36 South St. The council can also be contacted by calling 252-0950.
According to the announcement, the new address is meant to allow the organization to “become more visible and accessible to the community,” which will allow the group to better assist creators and patrons of the arts.
The Arts Council was created to enable and assist art, cultural and civic projects, support community development and educating, enriching and service the community, according to the organization.
Its biggest undertaking is the renovation of the historic Auburn Schine's Theater in downtown Auburn.
This is the second major announcement the group has made this month.
Michelle Graney was recently named the council's new executive director.

You might try talking to the past 4 directors and get the true story. Face it! The only way the theater project will survive is by becoming its own single purpose entity.
Now there is a game plan. "
