An Auburn man was arrested by the Auburn Police Department after he was accused of stabbing a man during a Sunday morning fight, police said.
Police charged Michael Maycumber, 26, of 20 Washington St., with second-degree felony assault, third-degree felony criminal possession of a weapon and false impersonation, a misdemeanor.
The victim, who was transported to Auburn Memorial Hospital with a serious leg injury, identified Maycumber as the man who attacked him during a large altercation at the intersection of Jefferson and Orchard streets at 1:17 a.m., police said.
Maycumber was arrested after officers found him walking north of Jefferson Street, police said. Maycumber is also accused of giving officers a fake name after they stopped him.
Police also responded to a second fight on Nelson Street at 1:32 a.m. after a victim was assaulted with a baseball bat, police said. Police have not made any arrests in that incident because the victim refused to cooperate.
