McCain/Palin campaign just can't stop the lies

Sunday, September 21, 2008 11:38 PM EDT

I actually got quite a chuckle out of Richmond Parker's letter in which he castigated Barack Obama for what he felt was speaking to “only Ivy League graduates!”
Mr. Parker, I can assure you that I did not graduate from any college whatsoever. In fact, I spent most of my senior year of high school writing heavy metal lyrics and drawing album covers in my notebooks. But I have absolutely no problem in understanding Obama. Perhaps the problem lies elsewhere, Richmond?

I also understand that the difference in speaking between he and John McCain is that in most cases, when either McCain or his VP pick Sarah Palin are speaking, they are lying bald-faced to the voters. McCain and Palin have perfected the art of spewing finely crafted and sharply honed simplistic slogans which taste great to the ears of Republican voters, but sour quickly on the fickle palette of truth.

In the end, the question being posed to the voters by McCain/Palin is “How ignorant and gullible are you, America?”

Palin has been consistently, brazenly lying about the “Bridge to Nowhere,” the “plane I sold on ebay” and about not taking earmarks in Alaska.

McCain's campaign has been so flagrantly untruthful, in fact, that no less a persona than Karl Rove himself - the very “architect” of the divisive, deceptive politics which have so corrupted this nation's government has characterized many McCain campaign statement as “beyond the 100-percent-truth test” on Fox News, not exactly a “liberal network?”

Even other Republicans are calling out the McCain/Palin lies now. The cable news networks, as well as many of the nation's newspapers are filled with editorials calling on the campaign to cease the lying to the voters.

McCain is betting that America is too polarized to care. Are you, voters?

" Once again, movedsouth, they wouldn't print my remarks.
I'll restrain myself by saying that your juvenile fixation on things that have nothing--NOTHING--to do with anything resembling "important" show your gullibility and shallow reasoning.
I'll say it one more time.
Obama renounced his pastor.
He quit the church.
Palin has never renounced her "witch hunter".
You're a hypocrite to call out Obama and yet not Palin.
You're willing to overlook that, I believe, because of your feelings about minorities. That's my opinion. "

" karl again, you are so blinded by your arrogance that you can't understand that this man is running for President and he sat and listened for 20 YEARS! If he didn't believe it for 20 years, he would have to be an idiot to sit there. IT HAS TO AFFECT HIS BELIEFS. Do you want a president that believes this stuff? "

" Gator, that post of yours is so idiotic I don;t even want to bother explaining to you that Obama is a Christian, NOT Muslim, and that you have fallen firmly in the company of cm and movedsouth with that ridiculous blather.
Sorry, but I gotta call it as I see it. "

" movedsouth, first of all, let me give you the "Pat Buchanan Diversionary Taffy Award" for your admirable twisting and pulling of my comment there regarding this "pastor" garbage.
Now let me clarify it for ya.
This ridiculous nonsense about ANYBODY's pastor is, again, ABSOLUTELY IRRELEVANT!
However, what I'm trying to illustrate to you is your obvious hypocrisy. You would call out a pastor WHOM OBAMA HAS ALREADY DENOUNCED AND REJECTED (!!!) yet you don't even acknowledge that it was only in JULY OF THIS YEAR that Palin waxed sentimentally about the "Witch Hunter" pastor!
Remove the crucifix in your eye, my friend!
Secondarily, Palin is SO far "Right" with her religion that there's NO WAY she would NOT allow her religion to dictate her policies.
Given the extremist nature of her views, that should worry any truly patriotic American who understands the Constitution. "

" karl again, be careful, the next thing we'll be seeing is "more karl." MSNBC and CNN have about 50% Liberal and 20% Conservative viewers. Fox has 39% Conservative and 33% Liberal. Stick with cnn and msnbc, we don't want to confuse you with different opinions. karl wrote "And movedsouth, if you're worried about what church Obama attended--as much as I loathe the very idea that a voter could actually even let THAT figure into a decision--", WHY DO YOU KEEP BRINGING UP PALINS RELIGION? His church was bigitod and hateful FOR 20 YEARS. If I attended KKK meetings, I'd be a bigot. How about OBAMA? BIGOT!!! "

Gator wrote on Sep 22, 2008 7:20 PM:

" Karl what's over the top is your continual bashing of those who have different views. You like Obama..we get it. You ignore his Freudian slip regarding his Muslim religion while being interviewed by Stephonopolis, but if it had been McCain you'd have been all over it. If McCain belonged to a church that practiced the "12 white values" you'd be all over that too. But you have no problem with Obama being part of a religion that practices the "12 Black Values". "

" Well, it seems the Citizen editors thought my first response to both cm and movedsouth was too over-the-top so I'll try again.
In my OPINION, your fixation on those RIDICULOUS "issues" are PROOF of your utter and complete gullibility. Seriously. Whatever websites you two signed up to that send you daily hateful reminders of WHAT THEY WANT TO DISTRACT YOU WITH, they are simply counting on gullible, simple-minded folks like you two.
Here we have the worst financial crisis in literally generations, and it was ALL enabled by, and committed by YOUR flag-waving, patriotic-slogan-gushing, "Amerika Uber Alles!" crowd!
You two just continue to gravely disappoint with your utter lack of insight and your willingness to be completely led around by your noses.
How silly. How stupid. "

" karl again, the fact that Obama was in that church shows what his beliefs are. Racist and America hating, I would rather some offbeat religion than racist and America hating. But then again you're comparing apples to oranges---Pres. or VP. Keep in mind we are electing a PRESIDENT. "

because daily I recieve emails stating otherwise..They are also one of the 3 first comments on any message board concerning Obama!
DID ya hear Donald Trump NOW ENDORSES McCAIN/Palin!

Sorry FG: but I DO care what 'white racist' BS said at a church he attended for 20+years, basically tells where is LOYALS are!

brew: grow up! "

" movedsouth, occasionally I DO bite my lip and watch Faux "News", to see what kind of ridiculous propaganda the Right is spinning now.
The #1 Rule of Warfare is "Know Thine Enemy".
It's scary, truly, what utter distortions and lies these talking heads come up with on that channel, honestly!
And movedsouth, if you're worried about what church Obama attended--as much as I loathe the very idea that a voter could actually even let THAT figure into a decision--then research about Sarah Palin's church and minister who "helped her become governor". The guy led a literal "witch hunt" in Kenya, and Sarah Palin bragged in only July of this year that he "helped" her to win the governorship by praying over her.
Her church believes in Talking-in-Tongues, Creationism, etc--bunch of Fundamentalist WHACKO'S!!! "

Farmer's Gal wrote on Sep 22, 2008 11:50 AM:

" I would be more concerned about McCain's attending an Israel-right-or-wrong church which would welcome a war to wipe Muslims off the face of the earth. Armageddon? No problem -- bring it on!

That would worry me more than the usual puffed up race-talking which generally results in very little. The man who has already said he would put the Israeli capital in Jerusalem in a heart-beat (so what if it starts all-out war around the world) worries me a lot more than a small-time grumbler about race. "

movedsouth wrote on Sep 22, 2008 9:51 AM:

" I have a concern about what church he attended and how he felt about it. When you attend a white hating church for 20 years, it DOES say something to your character. And the pastor was his mentor. To say that he didn't know what he was preaching, now that's lying. "
Now, a sufficiently charismatic leader can indeed energize a country with nothing more than his words. That's one area where Obama may be right on the money" Spot on with that, he is good with WORDS. "

Farmer's Gal wrote on Sep 22, 2008 8:57 AM:

" I couldn't care less if Obama wears a flag pin or a turban -- his fashion accessories are irrelevant to me.

I don't much care what church he attended or how he felt about it either.

Now, creating jobs is another matter. I remember Hillary saying she was going to bring 250,000 new jobs to New York State -- then we lost jobs. It's a stupid thing for any politician to promise unless s/he has a solid plan to prevent corporations from sending production out of the country.

I don't remember McCain having any good plans along those lines either.

Until we wean ourselves of dependency on the pharmaceutical industry and the insurance industry -- until those two hugely unhealthy behemoths are tamed and stripped of undue influence on our government -- no one is going to make any true headway with health care. And the only mainstream candidate talking along those lines was Edwards, who was first shot in the foot by the media, then by himself.

Now, a sufficiently charismatic leader can indeed energize a country with nothing more than his words. That's one area where Obama may be right on the money. It's just a matter of where does he want to go with that energy?

McCain will put more support behind the corporations owned by his fellow rich-guy cronies --- and that is just one of the main reasons I will have to vote Obama against him. "

So Richmond Parker calls me at 3:00 this afternoon to tell me that I am "functionally illiterate" because, basically, I dis agreed with his point about Obama's style and manner of speaking!
When I repeatedly corrected him on this, ans suggested to him that not-agreeing with his own opinion does not constitute "illiteracy", he hung up in my ear! LOL!
"Some men you just cain't reach"!!! LOL! "

If you still think Obama says "nothing", then it's only because your mind is closed and you are listening to talking heads who are repeating that canard ad nauseum so that gullible people like you can regurgitate the kind of crap ou have just done here.
Seriously; listen to Obama's speeches with an open mind--he's got plans coming out of the woodwork.
And the funny thing is, John McCain then co-op's 89% of them! "

Obama has told me/others:
How he will not wear the USA flag pin.
How he denounced his pastor/mentor of 20+years.
How he now denounces 'the whole church'
aka his pas life of 2o+ years.
How he plans to get UNION jobs for a few hundred thousand people?
(yet from where? and UNION ONLY?)
How he plans to bring better/afforable health care?
(where? what monies?)
How he plans to 'energize' the USA.
(how?what monies?)

he plans... he plans to....
DETAILS obama DETAILS??? "
