Auburn Maroon Vanguard takes first place

The Auburn Maroon Vanguard marching band took its second consecutive first-place finish, in a competition at Baldwinsville High School Saturday night.

The Vanguard took the the top score - 73.25 - in Large School, Division III, at the Baldwinsville "Fantasy of Sound" competition.

The Vanguard, which took first place last weekend at Cicero-North Syracuse, will be the host school for the "Harvest of Sound" field band competition, which will kick off at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at Holland Stadium, 197 Franklin St., Auburn.
