Sacred Heart Parish is having a pig roast and outdoor Mass today at the Owasco Fire Department grounds. The day begins with everyone gathering at 2 p.m. Games, including fun prizes, will begin at 3 p.m., followed by an outdoor Mass under the pavilion at 4:30 p.m. The pig roast festivities are at 5:30 p.m. After dinner will be the famous “ice cream toss” and time for singing. If you have not yet had the chance to see our local Merry-Go-Round Playhouse performance of the smash comedy “Church Basement Ladies,” don't miss it. I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed this show. It was so well done and absolutely hysterical. It offers a comical and occasionally serious glimpse inside the world of those of us who like to help out at “church,” no matter our denominations. Some things are just universal, and it's just so funny. I saw many fellow “church ladies” in the audience, and everyone really enjoyed a laugh at our “sisterhood.”
This is the first time this show has been performed on the east coast (our theater is that good), and the writer of this play flew in just to be there for this hysterical sold out performance. It's playing until Oct. 4, and I promise, you don't want to miss it.
Have a great week everyone and remember, God loves you so very much.
